The Cathedral Chapter’s New Dean Search Committee is very pleased and honored to announce that the Venerable Dr. Leander S. Harding has accepted the call from the Cathedral Great Chapter to serve as the 21st Dean of the Cathedral of All Saints.

The Cathedral Chapter’s New Dean Search Committee is very pleased and honored to announce that the Venerable Dr. Leander S. Harding, Rector of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Catskill, and an Archdeacon in the Albany Episcopal Diocese, has accepted the call from the Cathedral Great Chapter to serve as the 21st Dean of the Cathedral of All Saints. We look forward to having Rev.  Harding begin his ministry and deanship at the Cathedral at the beginning of Holy Week, Palm Sunday, 9 April 2017.

Father Harding, currently a member of the Great Chapter, is a highly regarded preacher, teacher, pastor and administrator, with over thirty-five years of ordained parish ministry in the Episcopal Church. Before his call to St. Luke’s, Catskill, Fr. Harding was the Dean of Church Relations and Seminary Advancement, and Associate Professor of Pastoral Theology, at the Trinity School for Ministry in Ambridge, Pennsylvania. Fr. Harding earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion and Literary Criticism from New College, in Sarasota, Florida; his Master of Divinity degree, with honors, from the Andover Newton Theological School in Newton Centre, Massachusetts ; and his doctorate from Boston College’s Institute for Religious Education and Pastoral Ministry, in Chestnut Hill, MA.

Reverend Leander Harding’s call completes a thirteen–month process of discernment undertaken by the Cathedral Chapter of whom God was calling to lead and pastor to the Cathedral of All Saints worshipping community. We are so very grateful for the Cathedral family’s patience, perseverance and prayers that surrounded and supported all of our efforts. Please join us in welcoming Father Harding, his wife Claudia, and their son Edgar, as we recommit ourselves to the mission and ministries we so proudly cherish at the Cathedral of All Saints, the mother church of the Episcopal Diocese of Albany.
