Assistant Bishop of Dallas appointed

Fraser Wynn Lawton

The Episcopal Diocese of Dallas has received notification from Presiding Bishop and Primate Michael B. Curry that a majority of both the various diocesan standing committees and the bishops exercising jurisdiction in The Episcopal Church have consented to the reception of the Rt. Rev. Fraser Wynn Lawton as a bishop of The Episcopal Church—and to his appointment as an assistant bishop in the Episcopal Diocese of Dallas, per Canon III.12.5(b)(3)(ix). The consents received have been certified by the Rev. Canon Michael Barlowe, registrar of the General Convention.

Bishop Lawton is the resigned bishop diocesan of the Diocese of Athabasca in the Anglican Church of Canada. He serves in the Episcopal Diocese of Dallas as rector of The Church of St. Dunstan and as assisting bishop.
