The Servant Queen

With Her Majesty the Queen’s 90th birthday this year comes a unique opportunity for churches to celebrate and share her Christian faith.

The Servant Queen – and the King She Serves is a beautifully illustrated short book, specially published for the occasion and with a forward written by the Queen. It uses Her Majesty’s own words to draw out the central role of her trust in Jesus Christ, offering an inspiring, multi–faceted insight into a life well–lived for others.

Thousands of churches across the country will be giving away copies of this unique tribute published by HOPEBible Society and the London Institute for Contemporary Christianity

Advance orders for The Servant Queen by Mark Greene and HOPE’s Communications Director Catherine Butcher, have already reached more than 50,000 with Anglican dioceses and Christian denominations ordering copies to give away.

A birthday tributeIn her 2014 Christmas broadcast the Queen said: “For me, the life of Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace, whose birth we celebrate today, is an inspiration and an anchor in my life. A role-model of reconciliation and forgiveness, he stretched out his hands in love, acceptance and healing. Christ’s example has taught me to seek to respect and value all people of whatever faith or none.” It is one of the many recent public references the Queen has made to her Christian faith.

The Servant Queen and the King She Serves uses the Queen’s own words to draw out the central role of her trust in Jesus Christ. This stunning book published by Bible Society, HOPE and LICC is designed to be a gift from you and your church to people in your workplace, network and community. It’s a conversation starter. Roy Crowne, HOPE’s executive director says, ‘The Queen describes Jesus as ‘an anchor’ and ‘role-model’ – as you read this book we hope you will consider how you can put your faith into words.”
