Bishop of the Arctic’s 2023 Easter letter

Exodus 12:3:  Tell the people of Israel that on the tenth day of this month the head of each family must choose a lamb or a young goat for his family to eat.

Exodus 12:6-7 Each family must take care of its animal until the evening of the fourteenth day of the month, when the animals are to be killed. Some of the blood must be put on the two doorposts and above the door of each house where the animals are to be eaten.

Exodus 12:12-14 That same night I will pass through Egypt and kill the first-born son in every family and the first-born male of all animals. I am the LORD, and I will punish the gods of Egypt. The blood on the houses will show me where you live, and when I see the blood, I will Pass Over you. Then you won’t be bothered by the terrible disasters I will bring on Egypt. Remember this day and celebrate it each year as a festival in my honor.
Jesus Died
Jesus was Buried
Jesus Rose from the Dead

The Stone was rolled away and now the tomb is empty.
Jesus is alive and we can talk to Him in prayer.
Jesus Loves You!

Seeing is not always believing. After witnessing His horrible beating, scourging and crucifixion Jesus’ disciples had difficulty believing the women’s report that Jesus had risen. Three times Matthew records Jesus predicting His death and resurrection: Matthew 16:21–28, Matthew 17:22–23, Matthew 20:17–19.

Luke 24 records two of Jesus’ disciples, (most likely part of the 70 not the 12) who in despair begin the 7 mile walk to Emmaus. Their risen Lord comes alongside them and joins in their walk. Jesus asks, “What are you talking about?” They reply, “Are you the only visitor to Jerusalem who does not know the things that have happened there in these days?” Jesus asks, “What things?”

It is like a comedy! Here the two disciples try explaining to Jesus why He should be sad. Jesus opens scriptures to them to explain how He the Messiah, had to suffer. But they are as blind to Jesus’ presence, as they are scripturally blind. It is only after arriving in Emmaus and inviting Jesus to stay with them that their eyes open as Jesus blesses bread.
Have you ever been blind not able to see or understand that
Jesus is the scrificial Lamb of God ?

Do you know that when God the Father sees Jesus’s Blood on you,
your sins are Passed Over?

Does someone you know need to know this great gift
that Jesus provided for them?

Ask Jesus to help them and to help you help them?
What do you want to tell Jesus?
Happy Easter
