London memorial service set for the victims of Hurricane Dorian

A SERVICE TO PRAY FOR THE VICTIMS OF HURRICANE DORIAN,IN AID OF THE BAHAMAS DISASTER RELIEF FUND.

11am SUNDAY 15TH SEPTEMBER, GROSVENOR CHAPEL, 24 SOUTH AUDLEY ST, LONDON W1K 2PA.

A Service to pray for the victims of Hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas and the reflief effort now underway, will take place at the Grosvenor Chapel on Sunday 15th September at 11am.

Speaking at the Service will be: Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon, Minister of State for the Commonwealth representing the UK government; and the Rt. Hon. Patricia Scotland QC, Secretary-General of the Commonwealth.

In attendance will be: The High Commisioner of the Bahamas, Ellison Greenslade and his staff, other Carribean High Commissioners and their staff, members of the Carribean Diaspora, Friends of the Bahamas and the congregation of the Grosvenor Chapel.

High Commissioner Greenslade said:

“This is an important opportunity to pray together for the victims of Hurricane Dorian with our friends in the UK and the Bahamian diaspora, to lament at the loss and the destruction, but also to look forward in hope at the bridges we can build through generous giving and support offered for new life and reconstruction. We thank the Grosvenor Chapel for standing with us at this tragic moment in our history.”

Fr Richard Fermer, Priest-in-Charge of the Grosvenor Chapel, Diocese of London said:

“The Chapel has had a longstanding connection with Bahamians through the High Commission and our congregation has come to love the people of this archepelgo of islands for their gentleness and joy. In the face of this disaster, we wish to stand with our friends in prayer and support, and encourage all who can to give generously.”
