While I agree with Gavin Ashenden that we need a new Reformation, with the focus this time on a biblical anthropology, I don’t think we can leave the 16th Century debates behind as he suggests. Rites for SSU/SSM are the new Sacrifice of the Mass, both of which undermine a biblical cosmology.

I’ve put you on my Lenten prayer list. I think I have a somewhat more optimistic view of the future for the USA than what I heard in that episode. But as to Great Britain, one wonders how much longer one will be allowed to quote Churchill, Shakespeare and Cramner. Given that one can be arrested for reading the KJV from the steps of a church, one assumes that it won’t be long before the House of Commons shouts down a member for quoting Sir Winston, and the Royal Shakespeare Co. will be forced to edit all the plays in order to avoid political incorrectness.
