Bishop Cook charged with Manslaughter DUI

Baltimore States Attorney has announced that Bishop Heather Cook will be charged with manslaughter DUI in the fatal crash that killed bicyclist Thomas Palermo.  Bishop Cook will be charged for leaving the scene of the accident, driving under the influence and causing an accident due to texting while driving.   If found guilty Bishop Cook could face up to 10 years in prison.

A Warrent has been issued for Bishop Cook’s arrest.

In a statement released by the Diocese of Baltimore which detailed the timeline of the December 27th accident there was no mention of drinking before the accident or texting.
