A multi-national commemoration of the 70th anniversary of D-Day was held today in Normandy. Queen Elizabeth II, the Prince of Wales, the Duke of Edinburgh, Prime Minister David Cameron and other Members of Parliament paid their respects to those who took part in the invasion of France on June 6, 1944 at a ceremony held at the Commonwealth War Graves Commission Cemetary in Bayeaux.

The ceremony followed a memorial service at Bayeaux Cathedral where the Royal Family were joined by veterans of the campaign and their families and friends.
