Pope Tawadros II was the guest of Dr. Mouneer Anis, the Bishop of Egypt at a ceremony held at Cairo’s Anglican Cathedral. The visit by the Patriarch of Alexandria was a “remarkable” and “historic” step towards closer relations among Egypt’s Christians, Dr. Anis reports.

Tawadros II, the Coptic Orthodox Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St Mark was the guest of the Most Rev. Mouneer Anis, Bishop of Egypt with North Africa and the Horn of Africa and Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church in Jerusalem and the Middle East, this week at a ceremony held at All Saints Cathedral in Cairo.

The leader of Egypt’s Coptic Christians opened the “Way of Salvation” art exhibition at Cairo’s Anglican Cathedral on 22 April 2014. Writing on his Facebook Page Dr Anis said it was a “very encouraging, remarkable and historical visit” and a “step towards unity” for Egypt’s Christian communities.
