The Episcopal Church in Minnesota (ECMN) supports the rights of victims of childhood sexual abuse to restitution, help, and justice.

As such, ECMN has no relationship whatsoever with the lobbying group known as the Minnesota Religious Council, which is part of a lobbying effort against expanding the time limit for lawsuits by victims of childhood sexual abuse.

“Episcopalians in Minnesota have always embraced the Baptismal Covenant imperative to respect the dignity of every human being,” says the Rt. Rev. Brian N. Prior, IX Bishop of Minnesota. “We also have a history of supporting the marginalized in our society. Allowing victims of abuse the time they need to access restitution is in line with that history and with our determination to honor all God’s people.”

The Episcopal Church in Minnesota (ECMN) is a network of faith communities called to transformation by engaging God’s mission.
