Dear Friends

It was providential that on the day of the KZN floods, my morning reading was Psalm 29.  As we once again see Kwa Zulu Natal in the midst of crisis, we look to the Lord, knowing that He is truly enthroned and in control of His world.  We pray for our God to work out His good purposes through this terrible trial as we ask Him to comfort those who are grieving the loss of loved ones and strengthen those enduring hardship. Many members of our churches have been affected by the floods and we trust that God’s people will show the compassion of Christ as they assist those who have lost homes and possessions.

COVID Regulations

You may not all be aware that the Government is seeking to replace the State of Disaster regulations with permanent amendments to the health act.  We are concerned that some of this legislation could unfairly prejudice religious organisations and we have lodged our objections.  It is encouraging to hear that there has been a nationwide pushback from a wide range of religious organisations.

Easter

This year’s Easter weekend coincides with Passover, and it is right to remember that we rejoice in the redeeming sacrifice of the Passover Lamb.  Christ’s blood on the doorposts of our hearts by faith is what ultimately ensures the angel of death passes over us and secures our rescue into the freedom of the eternal Promised Land through our Messiah and Saviour.  May this great hope show itself in our words and lives as we live out our salvation, witnessing for Christ, before a lost world.

For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. Therefore let us keep the Festival, not with the old bread leavened with malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.  1 Corinthians 5:7,8

May the Lord bless you all with a fresh reminder of His Passover grace and bring many lost souls to salvation through the preaching of His Word this Easter.

Every blessing,

Glenn
