The Primate of the Episcopal Church in Jerusalem and the Middle East has written to his fellow primates saying he will not attend this month's meeting of the Anglican Consultative Council standing committee at ACC-16 in Lusaka.

The Primate of the Episcopal Church in Jerusalem and the Middle East, the Most Rev. Mouneer Anis, has written to his fellow primates saying he will not attend this month's meeting of the Anglican Consultative Council standing committee at ACC-16 in Lusaka. In an email to Anglican Ink, Dr. Anis confirmed he would not attend due to the presence of members of the Episcopal Church of the USA at the meeting of the standing committee. At the January primates gathering in Canterbury, Archbishop Justin Welby pledged to enforce the primates' call that Episcopal Church members not be permitted to serve in leadership roles in the ACC and other pan-Anglican bodies.
