Many of you are following the events of South Sudan peace talks in Addis. Unfortunately, the Phase 3 of peace talks, which ended on March 5, has not yielded with any positive progress.

The talks, which is being brokered by IGAD countries* and the international community, are between South Sudan rebels (led by Riek Machar) and South Sudan government (led by Salva Kiir) is adjourned indefinitely. March 5th 2015 was set as a dateline for the two warring parties to sign a comprehensive peace pact but they couldn’t agree on issues, mainly power sharing and security arrangement.  This is not encouraging news to the innocent and poor people of South Sudan.  It is worrisome.  Some media reporters wrote: Kiir Returned Home without Peace,  S. Sudan rival forces threaten all-out war after failed talks.

The International Community is giving pressure, including sanctions of individuals from both sides, but living conditions in the country are grave.

Please continue to pray for South Sudan and particularly the leaders to change their hearts.  Please also pray that the people of S.S. will finally be blessed with peace. The LORD will give strength to his people; the LORD will bless his people with peace.  Psalm 29:11 (ISV)

God bless you all.
