The Rev. Adam Egan entered a guilty plea before a magistrate in Colonie, NY to one count of Attempted Unlawful Surveillance in the Second Degree.

A former Albany rector has pled guilty to being a Peeping Tom. On 23 May 2016 the Rev. Adam Egan entered a guilty plea before a magistrate in Colonie, New York  to one count of Attempted Unlawful Surveillance in the Second Degree. On 23 December 2015 Egan attempted to videotape a woman changing in a store dressing room. A customer at a Salvation Army thrift shop noticed a camera emerging from behind the curtain in her dressing room and called security. Egan (35) fled, but was arrested shortly thereafter by police. Following his arrest the Rt. Rev. William Love, Bishop of Albany, placed Egan on indefinite Administrative Leave, during which time he was forbidden to function as a priest or to wear clerical dress. Egan was received by Bishop Love from the Polish National Catholic Church in February 2010 and has served as rector of St Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Delmar, NY until his arrest.  Sentencing has been set for 25 July 2016. He faces up to three years probation and must register as a sex offender.
