The United Church of Canada was formed out of a commitment that the world is better served when we work together. Our commitment and actions continue to be unwavering as we live out our identity. This is the spirit with which we entered negotiations, and consequently signed a lease, with the Anglican Church of Canada (ACC) and The Presbyterian Church in Canada (PCC) to move into 300 Bloor St. West, together.

The ACC has advised the United Church that it is withdrawing from its commitment to move into 300 Bloor St. West. The details of the withdrawal from the contractual relationship are being negotiated between the parties.

We, the United Church, are disappointed that our hopes for a more broadly ecumenical church office will not be realized. We remain committed to being housed at 300 Bloor St. West, and are deeply grateful to the congregation of Bloor St. United Church, who continues to work with us as we face these unanticipated challenges.
