Dean Ryan Reed has been elected Bishop Coadjutor of Fort Worth on the third ballot.

After his election, Dean Reed was asked to briefly address the convention and said, “I will make just a couple of promises now, and then you will hear more from me later in the coming months. The promises are this:

1. I will daily attempt to walk in the power of the Holy Spirit and in obedience to my Lord and Savior Jesus;

2. I will do my best to be a shepherd, especially to the shepherds of this diocese;

3. I will defend the Catholic faith and practice of the Church in whatever arena I find myself in; and finally,

4. I will live, and hopefully speak, the transforming love of Jesus Christ. And I want all of us in this diocese to make that commitment going forward, that that becomes the most important thing we do.”
