His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, Sultan of Oman, has made a generous gift of land for St John Muscat to build an Anglican church.

During Bishop Sean’s visit to Oman last week, he met Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs director general Mr Ahmed Khamis Masood al-Bahri and was moved and honoured to be presented with a grant of land for St John’s Anglican Church Muscat, at the Christian Compound at Ansab.

Bishop Sean was able to pray at the site alongside the Reverend D. Mitchell Ford of the Protestant Church of Oman, giving thanks for God’s provision through the generosity of His Majesty Sultan Haitham, and the goodwill of the Ministry of Endowments and the PCO—an unexpected blessing for the congregation of St John’s and a wonderful testament to the positive relationships that continue to grow between the Diocese, the authorities and ecumenical partners in Oman.
