Rod Chiswell

Readers from the Anglican Diocese of Armidale in New South Wales, Australia, report that at their 12 Dec 2020 synod, the Senior Minister of St. Peter’s South Tamworth, the Rev. Rod Chiswell was elected bishop. The parish website states:

“Rev. Rod Chiswell moved to St. Peter’s in January 2008 from Walcha. He is a qualified Civil Engineer who gave up building roads and bridges to help more people discover friendship with God. Rod enjoys the challenge of helping people get to know who Jesus is, what He has done, and the difference He makes to daily life. Rod is married to Jenni and they have two children – Sam (married to Clare) & Georgia. When relaxing, Rod likes drinking coffee with friends, watching movies, and playing touch football.”

The Archbishop of Sydney, the Most Rev. Glenn Davies, said in a statement:

“I welcome the news that the Rev Rod Chiswell has been elected as the next Bishop of Armidale. Rod is a faithful pastor, a fine preacher and one who will hold fast to the faith once for all delivered to the saints. He is an answer to many prayers.”

Further details will be posted as they become available.
