I would argue with George that their ARE voices in the academy that are listened to in the Church and are known and respected. I would suggest Dr. Stephen Noll in the ACNA and Dr. Albert Mohler in the Southern Baptist Convention are two such voices that argue strongly for a Christian worldview as opposed to a secular one. There are others as well such as evangelical Methodist Dr. Maxie Dunham.
The Italian marxist Antonio Gramsci theorized instead of brute force it was best for the Comintern to infiltrate a societies institutions like schools, church, civil government, etc. until they quietly took over. For the most part this has happened in the US. The results are mostly meh. I think George is mostly right we have enough push back and hold our supposed masters in low regard and contempt. I surely don’t respect most public school teachers, federal judges, politicians, fake scientists, bishops, priests, and the hysterical pc types. The productive younger people aren’t eager to blindly follow. In fact, the young couples I know lead busy lives and are out hunting, 4-wheeling, having babies, and don’t seem enthralled to follow in the footsteps of their hippy parents with multiple marriages. The Anglican church picked the wrong horse to ride.
The lack of hope in the youth today lies at the feet of Christian parents and Churches. In Deuteronomy 6:7 we are told to teach our children diligently everywhere and at all times. Too many of us left this for one hour a week when we went to Church. At Church was good but it wasn’t enough to put it into their hearts. Unfortunately today, many clergy have married the spirit of the age. These teaching have been replaced by the narrative of the social liberal teachers in the schools and now the internet. Today feelings and preferences take preference over truth and facts. We must reclaim the Gospel and bring it into our homes.
