Well I guess it appears the senior clergy in the Church of England don’t know what it means when a Church is consecrated and dedicated to God. As it was mentioned in an earlier episode George has another job, well here is an opportunity for Gavin and George, they can offer their services to drive the evil out of these Churches.
Unfortunately, the senior clergy misunderstand that Our Lord, Jesus, sent his disciples out into the world to share his Gospel. They are not to sit in a building and wait for people to walk by and come in. It is the Word of God to be shared
The comment on +Gavin being the “go to” bishop for the press in England rings true. The lead story on another (not particularly conservative) website….
(On conservative websites, that would be the “Rt. Rev. Dr.”)
No mention of the dean or bishop who authorized this travesty. Nor any quotes from the ABoC, whose silence on these blasphemies signals his support of turning cathedrals into entertainment venues for the wealthy and tourists.
Why fret over the consequences of Queen Elizabeth’s death? It will be a good opportunity to finally rid the world of the obnoxious concept of blue blood; some are intrinsically better than others by their birth. Forget the sentimental notion of beautiful princesses, grand balls, and fairy tales and remember the intrigues and senseless bloodshed throughout Europe perpetrated by this protracted family of cousins. Let the English version disappear quietly in the night. Protector and head of the Church you say, my aching… Do we miss the Romanovs with Queen Victoria’s poisonous grand-daughter? I don’t.
Sort of. God gave his people Saul to quit their whining although he advised against. The European cousins surely did ask God’s blessings before they sent their armies to kill 10k in this battle and 100k in another. The Poles were always an easy target to tromp on.
I didn’t say that.
The Poles in recent history have been an easy patsy for the European royals to trample or train their armies on before heading off to more serious bloodshed. My hold is as an American I find it distasteful for anyone to kowtow to another over their DNA line. I would like to see royalty disappear in Asia and England.
We are rooting for you to finish Brexit so you aren’t held hostage to the likes of Junkers and France’s Lagarde. And of course, America is always ready to come to your aid as in WWI and WWII and pay for most of your defense. Americans find it very distasteful when our presidents or their wives bow and curtsey to royals. Please let us keep military bases in England and Germany countering any further endemic lust for slaughter. We are praying you don’t give up and roll over.
The XnENC is a Continuing Anglican Church. Gavin’s apostolic orders should be in order since they come through a Bp. Davies (sp) from Texas. It’s really tough researching this and why the diminishing in the US. As much as I can determine, ASA is around 60 on a good Sunday. The Canadian branch seems much more robust. George is a TEC priest. Kevin is a ACNA lay person and hence GAFCON.
The XnENC is not part of GAFCON. No WO for them as it is in parts of GAFCON. I can’t find any information on what the original organization was back in 1992 and why they subsequently split or mostly disintegrated in the US. Like I said, they seem more robust in Canada. The local Archbishop (forget his name) is retired navy I believe. He passed through the famous St. Lukes in Seattle that was a key church in the Pentecostal movement from the 1960s. Don’t think they are anything close to being Pentecostal. I know two of their priests from the local church but I know more of their history than they do.
Gavin can tell us why he chose this organization if he wishes. I imagine it was a safe port in the storm. GAFCON isn’t big in England and the African GAFCON members are still members in good standing in the Anglican Communion even though they themselves take exception to the direction.
The Christian Episcopal Church has two parishes in Washington State; St. James Olympia and King of Glory Auburn. No one knows much of the unit in Florida. Gavin was made bishop and kept it mostly secret for two years. I doubt if there is any grand plan other than proper apostolic credentials. In Europe he is known as a former chaplain to the Queen. His theology and willingness to be out spoken for the Lord is enough for me. I discern a little mysticism in his person. Like many of us I suspect he is somewhat cut adrift from our rich and deep heritage. Enough with the profiling.
In fairness, Jezebel Schori never wore sheep’s clothing.
I appreciate Anglican.Ink’s role as “watchmen” and “prophets” in relation to the Anglican world. But I’m glad to see that there is an awareness of / concern regarding perception. It is easy for those who wish to dismiss legitimate criticism to point to the moments when we’ve spoken carelessly. The watching of one’s tone and language is tiring, but worth it in the fight for credibility. Especially when what we have to say is so important…
