I should have thought that through before posting, as it gives AI and its readers a moral right to point out all of MY typos….
Actually Mar Thoma refers to that section of the ancient church of Malabar which is in communion with the Anglican Communion- they were reformed in the 19th Century and accepted a translation of the BCP words of institution into the Anaphora of Addai and Mari. Mar Thoma refers to this evangelical reformed church- there is also the ancient Syrian Orthodox Church of Malabar and the Jacobite Uniate Church which is in Communion with Rome. they all claim to trace their roots back to Thomas. The Church of Pakistan has as its emblem the Taxila Cross- Thomas is associated with Taxila and Pakistani Christians claim to be people of the land rather than conquered dhimmis.
