Humphrey Peters of Peshawar elected moderator

The Bishop in Peshawar, the Rt. Rev. Humphrey Sarfaraz Peters, has been elected moderator and primate of the Church of Pakistan. Delegates to the 15th triennial meeting on 20 May 2017 elected Bishop Peters to succeed the Most Rev. Samuel Azariah, Bishop in Raiwind as leader of the 8 diocese church formed in 1970 from the union of Anglicans, Methodists, Lutherans and Presbyterians in Pakistan.
