Russian press reports mistaken — puppy presented by parishioners of the Russian Cathedral in London

Anglican Ink’s report that Queen Elizabeth II presented a corgi puppy to the primate of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Kyrill of Moscow and All Russia, was mistaken.  On 17 Oct 2016 AI cited an article in Komsomolskaya Pravda which stated the dog was given to Kyrill by the Queen during his four day visit to London to mark the 300th annniversary of Russian Orthodox worship in England. However, on 19 October 2016 a spokesman for Kyrill stated the dog had been given to the patriarch by parishioners at the Cathedral of the Dormition in London.
