The Archbishop of Canterbury has met with the Primate and Archbishop of Kenya, the Most Revd Dr Jackson Ole Sapit.
Meeting over breakfast in Archbishop Jackson’s official residence in Nairobi, they discussed the joys and challenges of the Anglican Church in Kenya and the Anglican Communion, and committed to continue to pray for each other.

They exchanged gifts, with Archbishop Sarah presenting Archbishop Jackson and his wife, Mama Esther Sapit, with an Icon of the Annunciation and a jar of honey from Lambeth Palace. Archbishop Jackson presented Archbishop Sarah with a pectoral cross featuring the colours of the Kenyan flag and a necklace from the Maasai region. She was gifted a shawl on behalf of the Mother’s Union from the Province of Kenya.

They also planted a tree in the grounds of Archbishop Jackson’s official residence.
Following the meeting, the Archbishop of Canterbury travelled to Bujumbura in Burundi, to preach at the Installation service of the Rt Revd Eraste Bigirimana, the sixth Archbishop and Primate of the Anglican Church in Burundi.
