ACNA Diocese of Pittsburgh announces list of nominees to stand for election as bishop at April 2016 special convention

The Standing Committee of the Anglican Diocese of Pittsburgh reports that eight priests have been nominated to stand for election as bishop of the diocese in succession to the Rt. Rev. Robert Duncan. On 7 March 2016 the diocese reported that following a discernment process across the seven local and one at large districts of the diocese where each district was asked to submit three names for consideration, the search team had winnowed the list of nominees down to eight to stand for election at a special meeting of convention on 22-23 April 2016.

The Rev. Canon Phil Ashey

The Rev. John Chaney

The Rev. Canon Paul Donison

The Rev. Bill Driscoll

The Very Rev. Chip Edgar

The Rev. Prof. Jack Gabig

The Rev. Jim Hobby

The Ven. Jack Lumanog

The announcement said the nominees were “now in the process of producing written materials. We pray that the Holy Spirit will assist the Nominees as they answer questions about themselves and their ministry experience. Standardized, written materials will be published shortly after Easter (March 27, 2016). In the meantime, we ask everyone to recall the theme of our discernment process: Prayer, not politics; discernment, not a search.”
