I write to share news of a key leadership transition. I know this has been a season marked by various transitions in the diocese, and so this comes with both gentleness and care.
Bishop Brian Wallace has prayerfully discerned that God is leading him into a new chapter outside of C4SO, and has stepped down from his role as Suffragan Bishop effective May 29, 2026. He will remain a Bishop in the Anglican Church in North America, and will be leaning into his roles in the province and the new Anglican Campus Fellowship.
We are grateful for the two-and-a-half years he invested in our diocese, ordaining and confirming many people in local parishes, walking alongside our clergy, and bringing episcopal care during a pivotal season.
During his time with C4SO, Bishop Brian founded the Anglican Foundations Program to serve as an introduction to our expression of missional Anglicanism. He also orchestrated the Lilly Grant, which provided many of our clergy with cohorts for spiritual formation and relational connection. His presence among us will be missed.
Brian’s departure will create a gap, of course, in our episcopal capacity for the time being, which we are taking very seriously. We will be addressing this gap in thoughtful, intentional ways very shortly, and I will communicate more about these plans as soon as possible.
I ask that you hold Bishop Brian and his family in your prayers as he steps into this new season.
