Dear friends,

I write to inform you that effective Tuesday, June 3, the General Secretary of the Anglican Church of Canada, the Ven. Alan Perry, has taken a leave of absence from his duties. At a special meeting last night, the Council of General Synod appointed Canon Ian Alexander as the Interim General Secretary, to take effect immediately.

I realize that this news comes at a particularly challenging time, with General Synod 2025 less than three weeks away. I would like to assure you that plans are in place for the uninterrupted continuation of the operations of General Synod and the organization of our upcoming national gathering.

Holding our whole church in my prayers,

[Signed +Anne Germond]
Archbishop Anne Germond
Acting Primate
