George, your personal testimony is an encouragement to hear. Many are squeamish about speaking clearly with regard to what a Christian sexual ethic actually means, but the Church today desperately needs clarity as well as good examples.
The tradition, reason and scripture argument I have heard used on both sides of any discussion, But Article 6 of the 39 Articles states all that scripture contains all that is necessary for salvation. I recently read Canon A. Null analogy is scripture is a garden and reason and tradition are the tools used in the garden. I also have read that tradition is not what we have done, particularly in the secular world, in the past 50 years. It is how the early patristic fathers interpreted scripture.
