The Very Rev. Japhet Ponda, Dean of the Cathedral of St Michael and All Angels in Kitwe was elected the second Bishop of Luapula in Northern Zambia on 26 Feb 2025 by the diocesan synod meeting in the provincial capital of Mansa.
