Bishop Jill, the Bishop of Lancaster and a member of the Church of England’s general synod, tells Dave Piper it was clear from the latest synod that the Church is divided over the issue of blessing same-sex relationships. Bishop Jill says – for the first time she’s aware of – the Bishops have developed liturgy first, rather than letting that flow out of the theological groundwork. She says the theology STILL isn’t nailed down, and synod has failed to decide whether sex outside of marriage is even a sin or not.
