Condolences from Moscow on Jihadist attack on Ugandan school

His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ expressed his condolences over the loss of life in an attack on a secondary school in Mpondwe, western Uganda. At least 37 people, mostly students, were killed on June 16, 2023 by the Allied Democratic Forces. This was reported by TASS, citing the Ugandan Ministry of Defense.

Your Excellency, dear Mr President,

It was with sorrow that I learned of an attack on a school in Mpondwe that had killed and injured dozens of people, mostly children, and led to an abduction of several pupils.

I offer my heartfelt commiseration to all those affected by this terrible affliction and pray to the Lord that He may grant them consolation and fortitude and give strength to the doctors fighting for the life of the injured.
