The Rt. Rev. Alba Sally Sue Hernandez was consecrated Bishop of the diocese of Mexico in Mexico City on 29 January 2022. Bishop Hernandez becomes the first woman bishop in the Anglican Church in Mexico and the third woman bishop in South and Central America after the Bishop of Cuba, the Rt. Rev. Griselda Delgado del Carpio, and the Bishop of the Amazon, the Rt. Rev. Marinez Rosa dos Santos Bassotto.
