I have known clergy that have fallen, some of whom have been defrocked. Through this I have learnt of the stress they experience. I am left with the questions: Who provides pastoral support for them?, Do the Bishops know and acknowledge what the clergy are experiencing in their lives?. Unfortunately, I don’t think they are getting the support and prayers from the Bishop. But if they bring shame on the church they are set adrift. It saddens me when these people who at one point of their life dedicated themselves to God have fallen. We all must remember that the Church hires from the human race and all clergy need our earnest prayers.
I agree that the Church (Christ’s Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church) is the body of all faithful people who acknowledge our Lord, When I referred to the Church here I referred to the human institution, that is Anglican Church, Methodist Church etc. They hire, yes, clergy in the Anglican church are hired and payed a stipend and are all human hence members of the human race. By saying they are professionals you are admitting as much, because a professional is paid for their services. I would suggest that you meant it is a vocation, a calling that should be a way of life.

In the days of yore if an army officer brought dishonor upon the uniform or his oath, it wasn’t uncommon for him to fall on his own sword as they say or walk behind the tent and eat a bullet. There are generals and colonels in the swamp of the US Army that could use a little draining.
It is a horrible testimony that the two groups of people who care not a whit about the health of other people in the midst of a pandemic are violent rioters and those churches who refuse to practice safe procedures.
