Kevin Kallsen, George Conger, and Gavin Ashenden discuss the chaos CoronaVirus is causing in the Church. Diocese and churches are closing to protect their members, but is this the best image to give a broken and scared world? https://www.facebook.com/kkallsen https://www.facebook.com/geoconger https://www.facebook.com/Gav54

Yesterday I took my 99 year old mother to the hairdresser. Once every 6 weeks she gets her hair cut and colored. She’s vain and doesn’t want anyone thinking she’s an old woman and besides it’s an outing. Today they announced school closings for Monday. There is one confirmed case in our county but our thinking was to go for this appointment now rather than wait for the virus to wash over our area. What to do? There is probably a larger chance I could carry an infection into her group home but she still wants me to stop by every day for a few minutes.
Best episode today. Christianity and life must go on except in the summer vacation months or before a large conference like Lambeth.
Continue to visit her, and suspend visits if you feel unwell. And may God bless and keep you both.
Gavin’s blue background better suits his pale complexion. Corona beer is NOT an antidote, and Christians should remember that if they die they will end up in Heaven rather than Purgatory.. We should exercise extra hygiene care and take sensible precautions for the sake of others, but that shouldn’t mean we don’t come together to worship. (Any unbelievers are free to vacate the building before we celebrate the peace..) I’m fed up with all the hype, but I shall be wearing my transparent plastic ‘onesie’ with built in air filter to church tomorrow – just in case…
I was always under the impression Christian souls waited for judgement day and then the resurrection. We continue to pray for the repose of the souls for the dead.
I believe there are different understandings on this. One that all go to the place of the dead until resurrection and judgement / eternal life.
Others believe when Christians die they go straight to be with the Lord eg the thief on the Cross..
I don’t understand praying for the repose of the dead?
I’m sure that as long as our faith is in Christ Jesus for our salvation all will work out fine..
