James Ligo passed away suddenly on December 24

The Bishop of Vanuatu and New Caledonia has died. Sources in the Anglican Church of Melanesia report the Rt. Rev. James Ligo died suddenly on 24 December 2017 in Luganville and was laid to rest at the Anglican parish in Teouma Valley on Vanuatu on 26 Dec 2017. No other details are available at this time. Elected Bishop of Vanuatu and New Caledonia in 2006, Bishop Ligo was chairman of the Vanuatu Council of Churches and a prominent leader in the nation’s civil society.
