It was with great joy that the members and supporters of King’s Church, Guildford met today [9 May 2015] to give thanks to God for his great goodness in the early months of the establishing and development of the Church.

King’s Church’s is an orthodox Anglican church, led by an ordained Anglican minister, functioning under the episcopal oversight of the Bishops serving the Anglican Mission in England (AMiE). The vision of King’s Church is to ‘build God’s church with God’s word for God’s glory’

Local members of the church were joined by supporters from around the country as Rev. Richard Leadbeater was commissioned by the AMiE as the pastor of the new fellowship.

King’s Church were particularly encouraged to receive greetings from The Very Reverend, Archbishop Eliud Wabukala, Primate of Kenya and Chairman of the GAFCON Primates’ Council. The Archbishop leads a church of over 4.5 million Anglicans as well as being the head of the GAFCON movement which represents the majority of Anglicans worldwide. He assured King’s Church of his support and prayers for them in the years to come.

After the service, AMiE General Secretary, Canon Andy Lines said,

“This side of glory there can be no better way to spend a Saturday afternoon than in thanks to God for a new, young, vibrant Anglican church which is already serving its community with such evident enthusiasm. Our prayers are with King’s Church, Guildford as they seek to defend and proclaim the gospel in Guildford with ever greater effectiveness.”

Chairman of AMiE, Rev. Justin Mote said,

“AMiE exists to promote gospel growth by supporting Anglican churches and individuals both within and outside present Church of England structures. That is what King’s Church, Guildford does and we long for the day when every community has access to a Bible-teaching, people-loving, Christ-centred Anglican church.”

Rev. Richard Leadbeater said,

“It has been a great joy and privilege to be part of what the Lord is doing in starting, establishing and growing King’s Church Guildford. It was a real encouragement on Saturday to praise God together with so many gospel partners from around the country and indeed, the world. We are very thankful for the help and support of AMiE in this vital work of building God’s church.”
