Nominations are now being accepted for election to the Executive Committee of the Anglican Church in North America and two Provincial Courts

Nominations are now being accepted for election to the Executive Committee of the Anglican Church in North America and two Provincial Courts (The Court for the Trial of a Bishop and The Provincial Tribunal).  The elections will take place during the Provincial Council meeting to be held in Jerusalem, Israel on Saturday June 23, 2018.

The Executive Committee serves as the Board of Directors for the Anglican Church in North America.  Members serve three-year staggered terms and cannot serve more than two terms consecutively. The organization and responsibilities of the Executive Committee are further outlined in Title 1, Canon 1, Section 4 of the Anglican Church in North America canons. Clergy nominees to the Executive Committee can be of any order: bishop, priest, or deacon.

In order to be eligible for election, a nominee must be a current member of the Anglican Church in North America’s Provincial Council. Each member must be able to self-fund travel for at least two face-to-face meetings of the Executive Committee (annually) and be available for monthly conference calls and other calls as needed.

Nominations for the two Provincial Courts must specify the Court for which they are running: The Court for the Trial of a Bishop, and/or The Provincial Tribunal.  Please refer to the Canons which set out the specifics requirements for members.

ALL Nominees for the Executive Committee, and the Provincial Courts, should send a brief biographical statement and photo to frcarl@gmail.com by May 15, 2018.  Each biographical statement, including a photo of the nominee, and the name of their diocese, should be sent as one fully formatted PDF file.   Before submitting a nomination, please contact the nominee and solicit his or her permission.

Nominee profiles that are received by May 15, 2018 will be made available to the Council before June’s meeting.  Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

In Christ,

Carl Eyberg
Executive Committee, Chair of Nominations
