Church Attorney rejects Bruno’s arguments for dismissal

“The Bishop’s entire motion is based on claims of misconduct by others, namely after-the-fact conduct by Complainants, investigators and the intake officer. Such conduct does not bear on the proof of his conduct.” 

The Church Attorney in the Title IV hearing investingating the Bishop of Los Angeles, the Rt. Rev. J. Jon Bruno, filed a motion on 9 Sept 2016 opposing the bishop’s motion to strike the complaint noting the “Bishop’s entire motion is based on claims of misconduct by others, namely after-the-fact conduct by Complainants, investigators and the intake officer. Such conduct does not bear on the proof of his conduct.” Church Attorney Raymond J. Coughlan noted that in the matter at bar, only the bishop’s conduct as stated in the complaint was relevant.
