The Church of Pakistan calls upon all faithful believers and people of goodwill to uphold in prayer the ongoing dialogue and peace efforts taking place in Islamabad between representatives of the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
At a time of global uncertainty and heightened tensions, such engagements offer a vital opportunity for constructive dialogue, mutual understanding, and the pursuit of lasting peace.
The Church affirms that true peace is rooted in justice, truth, and respect for human dignity. In this spirit, we urge all parties involved to approach these deliberations with wisdom, restraint, and a sincere commitment to reconciliation.
We especially remember in our prayers the leadership of the nations:
Donald Trump, President of the United States, and J D Vance, Vice President of the United States and members of the American delegation;
Masoud Pezeshkian, and those entrusted with representing Iran, including Abbas Araghchi and Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf;
and the leadership of Pakistan, particularly Shehbaz Sharif and Asim Munir, for their role in facilitating dialogue and promoting regional stability.
The Church commends the efforts of Pakistan in hosting and supporting this important initiative and prays that our nation may continue to serve as a bridge for peace among nations.
In accordance with the Holy Scriptures, we are reminded:
“Seek peace and pursue it.” (Psalm 34:14)
We therefore call upon our congregations across the country to offer earnest prayers for:
• Wisdom and discernment for all leaders and negotiators
• A spirit of humility and cooperation in the dialogue
• Protection for the vulnerable and those affected by conflict
• Outcomes that advance justice, stability, and lasting peace
May God grant that these efforts bear fruit in reconciliation and renewed hope for the nations.
