United Society Partners in the Gospel (USPG) successfully organised a Global Conference on Anti-Human Trafficking and Modern Slavery from 3rd to 8th November 2025 at Durgapur and Malda.
The conference was graced by the esteemed presence of The Most Revd. Dr. Paritosh Canning, Moderator, CNI; The Rt. Revd. Silvans Christian, Deputy Moderator; Revd. Dr. D. J. Ajith Kumar, General Secretary; Mr. Subrata Gorai, Treasurer; and The Rt. Revd. Sameer Khimla, Bishop of Durgapur Diocese.
Distinguished guests from the Church of South India including Adv. Fernandas Raja, General Secretary, and representatives from USPG – Revd. Canon Dr. Duncan Dormor, General Secretary; Revd. Canon Dr. Peniel Rajkumar, Director for Global Mission; and Revd. Davidson Solanki, Regional Secretary for South Asia & the Middle East – joined the conference along with delegates from across the globe. Together, participants shared insights and experiences, working in unity towards just and humane practices to combat human trafficking and modern slavery through enhanced international cooperation, innovative technology, and people-centred approaches.
The conference affirmed the vision of the universal Church as a movement for the fullness of life for all, standing against all forms of oppression and exploitation. This ecumenical partnership fosters collective and just solidarity, re-envisioning the world through the lens of life in its fullness. Special thanks to The Rt. Revd.
