Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church has named the Rt. Rev. Dean E. Wolfe as Bishop in Residence, beginning September 1, 2025. A former Vice Rector of Saint Michael (1998–2003) and former Bishop of Kansas (2003–2017), Wolfe brings decades of leadership experience in The Episcopal Church.

In this new role, Bishop Wolfe will assist with worship, provide pastoral care, and help strengthen church relationships. His previous service includes roles as Vice President of the House of Bishops, member of the Presiding Bishop’s Council of Advice, and delegate to the World Council of Churches.

Since 2017, he has served as Rector of Saint Bartholomew’s Church in New York City, where he led the parish through the COVID-19 pandemic and a major restoration of its historic property.

Saint Michael’s leadership expressed enthusiasm for his return, highlighting his deep ties to the parish and his experience in national church leadership.

Wolfe holds degrees from Miami University of Ohio and Virginia Theological Seminary and is married to Ellen Frantz-Wolfe. They have one son, William Wolfe.
