West Buganda bishop dies

Godfrey Makumbi died on 31 May 2015 at the Cancer Institute Mulago in Kampala. He was 52.

The Bishop of West Buganda has died, reports the Church of the Province of Uganda. On 31 May 2015 the Rt. Rev. Godfrey Makumbi died while being treated for throat cancer at the Cancer Institute Mulago in Kampala. he was 52. The bishop had undergone surgery earlier this year in South Africa to halt the spread of the cancer, but it proved unsuccessful. His funeral is scheduled for 4 June 2015 in Kako. The bishop is survived by his wife, Deborah, and children.
