  1. “Threatening people in this way cannot be disguised as protected religious activity.” I suppose no biblical witness at all is “protected religious activity” in that it warns people of hell, which is the equivalent of “ethnic cleansing and slavery.” Truly supposed Christians will be leading the way in the persecution of Christians.

    • Telling the truth on social media is not “threatening” people. Did he threaten violence against them? It seems not. If he cannot say, away from the rugby game itself, what his religion teaches, then he does not have free speech.

If the Bishop could point to any inappropriate treatment of others in person, on the field of play, that would be another matter. But he doesn’t.

      • Ah, but it wasn’t inclusive or accepting of lifestyles the Bible teaches as sinful and (self) destructive. He has no right to say things that might affect young and impressionable minds and cause them to reflect on the more important issues of life.
        He’s a bad, bad boy…
Just like that there Eric Liddle..

  2. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 English Standard Version
“Or do you not know that the unrighteous[a] will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practise homosexuality,[b] 10 nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.”
    Revelation 22: 14,15
“Blessed are those who wash their robes,[e] so that they may have the right to the tree of life and that they may enter the city by the gates. 15 Outside are the dogs and sorcerers and the sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and everyone who loves and practises falsehood.”
All Evangelical Christians accept and believe God judges us. He knows what is in our hearts and therefore will judge us with righteousness and compassion.
That’s the whole point of John 3:16, by accepting and following Christ Jesus we do not come under judgment.
Israel may have been overly blunt; but no more than what St. Stephen was in Acts 6:51!
Israel is only standing for what the Bible teaches, and what we as Christians should believe.

  3. What a weak individual.

Another Bishop unprepared to stand up for his brother who only spoke the truth.

    • He’s an ex rugby player so let’s not diss him.
More likely that he has wittingly or unwittingly imbibed the noxious brew of political correctness administered in some religious institution or other..

The point is that not so long ago Christianity and Christians were the anchor points of our Western democracies. We had the Wesley brothers, Whitfield, then William and Catherine Booth proclaiming the Gospel of salvation whilst feeding the poor and creating employment for them.
This chap Murray Harvey has been told he qualifies to be a bishop, but based on what?
