Lambeth Palace is pleased to announce two appointments to the Archbishop of Canterbury’s senior team.
Becky Clark has been appointed Chief of Staff to the Archbishop of Canterbury, and Anna Dulic-Sills has been appointed to the role of Chief Operating Officer for Lambeth Palace.
As the principal adviser to the Archbishop of Canterbury, Becky will provide oversight of the support given to Archbishop Sarah’s ministry. She will hold a broad range of relationships and represent the Archbishop across the Church of England and Anglican Communion, as well as with the Royal Household, Parliament, other denominations, and faith groups.
As Chief Operating Officer, Anna will support the ministry of the Archbishop of Canterbury by ensuring that Lambeth Palace operates effectively, safely and sustainably – as an office, home, place of worship, historic building and gardens, and events venue. This is a new role that replaces the Deputy Chief of Staff position.
Both Becky and Anna will report directly to the Archbishop of Canterbury.
Ruth Dickinson, who has led the senior team at Lambeth Palace since June 2025 as Executive Director (interim), will take up a six-month secondment to help establish a new strategy and engagement function for the Church Commissioners in November.
Canon Margaret Cave, Director for Episcopal Ministry, who was due to retire in the autumn, has agreed to stay on to help ensure a smooth transition to the new leadership structure.
The Archbishop of Canterbury, Sarah Mullally, said: “I am delighted that Becky and Anna will be joining the senior team at Lambeth Palace. They bring a wide range of gifts, experiences and skills that be invaluable to us all in the years ahead. I look forward to welcoming them to Lambeth later this year.
“I’m grateful to Ruth for stepping up to lead the team last summer, and I have particularly valued her calm, caring, thoughtful leadership. She has made a positive impact that has been felt and appreciated by staff across Lambeth and beyond. I would also like to thank Margaret for agreeing to remain in post a little longer to support both Anna and Becky when they arrive.”
Becky Clark said: “I am delighted and honoured to be re-joining the national Church as Chief of Staff to Archbishop Sarah. I am a passionate believer in faith as a core part of public life, whether that is supporting social policies to protect the vulnerable, promoting the gospel in all places, or providing conscientious challenge where it might be needed.
“The Church of England plays a vital role in providing and curating that space for faith. The ubiquity and presence of the parish system, combined with the vital roles of CofE schools, cathedrals, social ventures, investing impact, international engagement – including links to the global Anglican Communion, and national voice within the UK, are essential, exciting and joyfully diverse. I look forward to supporting Archbishop Sarah’s priorities, including rebuilding trust where it has been lost, prioritising unity and listening to one another, and building a ministry of hospitality and welcome.”

Becky Clark – Biography
As the former Director of the Cathedral and Church Buildings team at the National Church Institutions (NCIs) and Canon of Honour at Portsmouth Cathedral, Becky is well known within the Church. During her time at the NCIs Becky helped run General Synod and worked with the National Environment Working Group to help church buildings play their part in reaching net zero goals.
Becky left the NCIs in 2022 after nearly ten years’ service to live and work in the Falkland Islands on a four-year contract as Director of Development and Commercial Services for the Falkland Islands Government, supporting economic development and commercial best-practice in the remote British Overseas Territory. Becky will be returning to London to start her new role in November.
Anna Dulic-Sills – Biography
Anna is currently Chief Corporate Officer at the University of Brighton, where she leads corporate governance, legal, regulatory compliance, institutional health and safety, licensing and risk management. She serves as Clerk to the Board and provides strategic advice on governance and regulatory matters ensuring institutional accountability, transparency and regulatory compliance.
A former research scientist specialising in DNA repair, Anna earned her PhD under the guidance of Nobel Laureate Tomas Lindahl. She went on to do clinical science work at Barts and the London NHS Trust. She transitioned into management and held leadership roles at Queen Mary, University of London, St George’s, University of London, where she was Chief Operating Officer.
Anna is also a panel member for the Advance HE Athena Swan UK-wide framework that drives gender equality and inclusive culture in education and research and has served as a co-director of a Community Interest Company.
Anna takes up her new role on 26 October.
