The Annual Retreat of the Bishops of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), which got underway on Monday, has been carefully planned to meet the four “Rs” — Rest, Reflection, Refreshing, and Refire — as highlighted by the Primate and Metropolitan, His Grace, the Most Rev’d Henry Chukwudum Ndukuba at the opening holy communion service held on Monday evening at the Bethany Chapel, Faith Plaza, Bariga, Lagos.

The Primate noted that it is important for all the bishops and their wives to take the beginning of the year to seek God’s guidance in leading God’s people through another year ahead, emphasizing the importance of setting time apart.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the Local Organising Committee, the Venerable Folorunso Agbelusi, noted that several subcommittees were set up to ensure a hitch-free retreat for the Church fathers and their mothers.

The subcommittees include security, welcome, transportation, venue and sanitation, technical, accommodation, logistics, media, and vendor management. All arrangements have been made to ensure the safety of every participants.
“We want to say that everyone should just feel free, relax, and have a beautiful retreat,” he said.

“We also have ambulance services in case of any emergency, as well as a well-kitted clinic manned by top-rated medical practitioners.”

He disclosed that members of the Women Organisation were taking turns to ensure that everyone is well catered for.
He thanked the Diocesan, the Rt. Rev’d Dr. Ifedola Senasu Okupevi, and Mama Lagos, Mrs. Modupe Roseline Okupevi, for their tremendous support and commitment to the team saying that it has been a great inspiration for the smooth flow of all services being rendered for the retreat.
