Key resolutions adopted by the 27th provincial synod of the Anglican Church of Kenya held 23-25 September 2025:

• State of the Nation: The synod addressed concerns about political division, public distrust in institutions, and economic hardship, calling for unity, integrity, and leadership that rises above ethnic and political factionalism.

• Condemnation of Violence: The synod strongly condemned both lawlessness at protests and excessive state force, urging thorough investigations into extrajudicial killings and ensuring the government protects lives and property.

• Call for Justice and Reform: The church pressed the government to work for justice, fight corruption, and ensure fair tax and economic policy that improves the welfare of all Kenyans, especially the vulnerable.

• Youth Engagement: The synod encouraged young people to register as voters and use lawful, democratic means to seek reform and foster positive change.

• Ecclesiastical Independence: The synod reaffirmed the authority of the ACK’s constitution, emphasizing the need to maintain church independence and integrity, resisting attempts by the state to co-opt church institutions or align them too closely with government interests.

• Biblical and Social Witness: The church reaffirmed its commitment to biblical values, good governance, reconciliation, and social responsibility in Kenyan society.

• Environmental Stewardship: The synod highlighted plans to intensify environmental management and mission efforts during 2026 as part of a broader vision for a “wholesome ecology for a wholesome nation”
