The following statement has been issued by the Bench of Bishops of the Church in Wales:

Christian agencies from across the UK and beyond are calling on churches across Britain to pray for peace on Sunday September 21st, coinciding with the UN World Peace Day and the global call to prayer from across the World Council of Churches.

Mindful of the increasing horrors that we are witnessing in Gaza and beyond, we are writing to encourage all members of the Church in Wales to take up this call and pray for peace, both corporately during public acts of worship and personally during your own private prayer times.

There is also a ‘Red Line mobilisation’ (mentioned in the above link) planned for outside the Senedd in Cardiff Bay at 12.30pm on Wednesday September 24th. This will take the form of Visible Witness and Public Prayers for Peace. Archbishop Cherry intends to be present. If you are able to join in with this, please do. More information will be coming out in the next week.
