Dear Brothers and Sisters of the Upper Midwest,

You may have seen this update from the Ecclesiastical Trial Court announcing the delay of the trial until early October. Many of you have reached out to me about this.

Though it has been an intense month for everyone involved, I can reassure you that Katherine and I have both known the closeness of the Lord in these days.

Understandably, many of you have questions about the trial. While I am unable to comment on the trial itself, you may be encouraged that the Court’s update states, “Following the conclusion of the trial, the Court will issue a full and detailed order that will include a comprehensive account of all evidence reviewed, together with the Court’s findings of fact and its conclusions of law…”

Please know that I am thankful for clarity about the next step. I remain committed to the canonical process. And I trust the Lord that closure will come in his way and his timing. In the meantime, our churches face a new ministry year of kingdom opportunities. I am praying regularly for each of our congregations and missions and look forward to seeing some of you on my visitations this autumn.

Please continue to pray with me for the Trial Court, for our Province, and for all who are affected by these proceedings.
