The Dean of Blackburn (the Very Rev. Peter Howell-Jones) has been suspended from his post pending the outcome of a complaint made against him under the Clergy Discipline Measure.

Suspension is a neutral act and does not presume guilt and so speculation is unhelpful.

The Bishop of Blackburn will be consulting with the Cathedral’s Chapter to appoint an Interim Dean and this will be announced soon.

The Rt Revd Philip North
Bishop of Blackburn
