The Governors of the Anglican Centre in Rome met today (21 March 2025) at the Anglican Communion Office. It was also the first Board Meeting for the new Director of the ACR, The Right Reverend Anthony Ball.

Marked by a spirit of openness and shared purpose, the gathering explored fresh possibilities for the Centre’s future and affirmed strong support for Bishop Anthony’s ministry.

The Anglican Centre in Rome serves as the Anglican Communion’s permanent presence in the city and plays a vital role in promoting dialogue and unity between Anglicans and Roman Catholics.

Founded in 1966, it is a place of hospitality, education, and ecumenical encounter. Reflecting on the gathering, Bishop Anthony said: “It has been rewarding to get to know and spend time with the Governors of the Anglican Centre – albeit some of them online – and to learn about their commitment to and vision for the Centre. I was hugely encouraged by the breadth of discussion, excited by the possibilities that were explored, and grateful for the support expressed as my ministry as Director begins.”
